Auburn, Ala. - The Auburn gymnastics team (4-6, 0-6 SEC) moved to No. 12 in the national rankings according the Feb. 25, GymInfo women's gymnastics national rankings. Additionally, Auburn's Lindsey Puckett, Julie Dwyer and Krissy Voss are all ranked in the top 25 of the all-around.

"It is exciting to see that all our hard work is paying off," said Auburn head coach Jeff Thompson. "It is also exciting to know the possibilities that are there when we finally put it all together."

As a team, the Tigers are ranked in the top 25 of three events. With a 49.400 beam performance at Arkansas, the Tigers jumped 11 spots to No. 6. Auburn moved up two spots to No. 10 on vault. The Tigers moved up one spot from last week's ranking to No. 15 on floor exercise.

Puckett's No. 8 ranking comes on the heels of her fourth all-around title of the season. She scored a career high 39.550 at Arkansas. She is ranked No. 12 on balance beam with a high score of 9.925, a mark she reached last week. Puckett is tied for No. 17 on vault and tied for No. 21 on floor exercise.

Dwyer is ranked at No. 13 in the all-around. She is also tied for No. 4 on balance beam with a high score of 9.950. Voss makes her collegiate debut in the rankings this week at No. 22 in the all-around.

"It is important for people to know that wins and losses are not the most important thing in gymnastics," Thompson said. "If you look at our win-loss record, you may get the impression that we are not having a good season. These rankings reflect what we have thought about this team all along. We know that we are capable of being a top 10 team."

Five of Auburn's six losses this season have come at the hands of a No. 1 Florida team, a No. 1 Georgia team, a No. 3 Alabama team, a No. 7 LSU and No. 10 Arkansas. Of those losses, three of Auburn's opponents notched a season's best in the win (Alabama, LSU and Arkansas).

Auburn's season-high score is 195.950, a mark that has been reached twice, the first in a win at N.C. State and the second last weekend in a loss to Arkansas.

Auburn will host No. 25 Illinois on Friday, Feb. 29, at 7 p.m., in Beard-Eaves-Memorial Coliseum. The Tigers will then travel to Colorado to face the No. 13 Denver Pioneers on Sunday, March 2.
