AGA Competes in Creole Classic

Westwego, LA-- Eight AGA gymnasts traveled just outside of New Orleans to compete at the Creole Classic gymnastics meet this past weekend. The weekend was filled with the entire Creole/New Orleans experience.

On Friday, most of the gymnasts traveled to Baton Rouge to cheer on the Auburn University gymnasts team as they competed against LSU and West Virginia. Many then went out for a late seafood meal together and then made the trip back to New Orleans.

Five AGA compolsory gymnasts competed on Saturday morning and Haley Adrian (lvl 4) took top honors winning the all-around title after placing first on every event. Brittany Noyd (lvl 4) finished second on every event and finished second all-around. Savannah Schoenherr, level 5 turned in a solid performance on Floor, scoring a 9.050 to finish in fourth place in the event, Lauren Edwards (lvl 5) scored a 9.025 on floor.

Mary Ashton Klingler scored a season high 36.150 all-around to take home first place at level 8. Klingler scored season highs on Vault, Bars and Floor. Jessica Gottesman struggled with a cold and cough but still managed to place second all-around.

Pamela Sanasith scored 9.0 on Vault and 9.250 on Floor to place 2nd All-Around among the level 10 gymnasts.

During the weekend, team members and coaches visited the French Quarter Market, took in beignets at Cafe du Monde, and ate together at local restaurants.
